Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about route updates, sharing, downloads and access.

Does a route update also update runners’ watches?

No. The hosted page, QR link and embed show the latest processed course, but files already downloaded or synced to a device must be replaced. Send a route update explaining what runners need to do.

Does replacing a GPX send an email?

No. Prepare recipients, review a draft, send a test, mark it Ready and explicitly confirm the runner send.

Can I import KML or FIT?

Yes, through new-route import with KML/FIT access, currently included with Starter and Pro. Full replacement currently accepts GPX. Read supported formats and limits.

Do runners need an account?

Public routes can be opened without signing in. Private routes cannot be shared publicly just by sending their link. Check visibility and public access.

Can I try Pro?

New accounts receive 30 days of Pro features from activation. Paid subscriptions still bill normally. Review what happens when the preview ends.

How do I add several checkpoints?

Use Quick add checkpoints, click the route, then Save and add next. Expand More details and marker settings for icons, details and GPS/watch choices.

Why do my distance or ascent figures differ?

Point spacing, elevation sources and calculation methods vary. Review the route line and elevation profile before assuming the course is wrong.

Is terrain mapping a 3D view?

No. The current viewer has standard, satellite and terrain layers on a 2D map. See map controls.

Can runners use miles and metres?

Yes, with runner-unit-selection access. Enable Allow runners to choose units in Share and embed and save. With that option off, runners see paired metric/imperial controls. See which controls apply.

Can I undo deleting a route?

No. Version restore recovers an earlier course on an existing route; it does not recover a deleted route.
