Embedding a route

Place an interactive current course on your event website.

Embeds show a SummitGPX route inside your own website. They require embed access, normally Pro, and a public route. Updating the existing route updates what the embed shows after processing.

Add an embed

  1. Open the organizer route and expand Share and embed.
  2. Choose the embed size, layout and alignment that fit your page.
  3. Choose Save share and embed settings, then copy the generated embed code in full.
  4. Paste it into an HTML/embed block in your website editor and publish the website change.
  5. Test the result on desktop and a phone, including its download buttons.

Available layout choices include sidebar or bottom information, with compact, standard or full sizing. Keep enough width for the profile and downloads. Copy the generated embed code instead of placing the hosted public-page URL in an iframe.

Branding and units

With white-label access, account settings provide logo, theme, accent color, button styling, footer branding and a browser tab icon. Review contrast and logo legibility on the actual route. Units follow the route settings and available runner controls; see units and language.

If an embed does not show the route

  • Check that the route is Public and the account still includes embeds.
  • Confirm your website permits the generated HTML and that no part of the code was removed.
  • If the Pro preview ended, review continuing-plan features and active route choices.
  • If the course looks old, confirm processing finished and reload the page.

Private or unavailable routes show an access message or a link to the hosted route, depending on the reason. A working embed does not make an old downloaded GPX update itself.
